These discount cards can be used our website, depending on your route and train type (other discount cards to be used through our Contact Centre). Please note: you must show your card or proof of entitlement on-board.

Train+ (SNCB)

With Train+ you enjoy discounts during off-peak times, weekends and public holidays and capped fares on the Belgian part of cross-border journeys with conventional trains (not on high speed trains).

Preferential Reimbursement (SNCB)

If you're a beneficiary of Preferential Reimbursement, you get 40% discount on the Belgian part of cross-border journeys with conventional trains.

100% discount Belgium (SNCB)

Holders of a valid travel pass, Unlimited Season Ticket or token for free transport on the Belgian rail network (visual impaired travellers, parliament members, police in uniform etc.) do not pay for the Belgian part of international journeys with conventional trains.

40% discount Netherlands (NS)

Depending on the conditions of their season ticket (route, time of travel etc.), holders of some types of NS season tickets 40% discount on the Dutch part of an international journey with conventional trains.

100% discount Netherlands (NS)

Depending on the conditions of their season ticket (route, time of travel etc.), some types of NS season tickets cover the Dutch part of an international journey with conventional trains. Holders of a pass valid on the Dutch network also travel for free in the Netherlands (except on Eurostar).

The Hague is known as the political centre of the Netherlands, but it also has 11 km of coastline, making it the biggest Dutch coastal city.

You can easily reach The Hague by train from Belgium by taking the Eurocity Direct, the EuroCity or Eurostar train to Rotterdam, where you have easy and frequent onward connections to The Hague.

As an alternative, you can also travel to The Hague times a week in the evening three without having to change trains, using the European Sleeper night train that calls at The Hague on its route from Brussels to Berlin and Prague.

Travel update

9 September: no trains to, from and within the Netherlands

Due to a nationwide strike in the Netherlands, no trains will be running to, from or within the Netherlands on Wednesday 9 September 2026.

Eurostar will not run between Brussels and Amsterdam.
The Eurocity Direct (Brussels-Amsterdam) will not run.
The EuroCity (Brussels-Rotterdam) will only run between Brussels and Noorderkempen.
Trains on the S43 service between Liège and Maastricht will only run between Liège and Visé.
Trains on the S32 service between Puurs, Antwerp and Roosendaal will only run between Puurs and Essen.

Special arrangements for tickets for travel on 9 September between Belgium and the Netherlands:

Eurostar tickets can be refunded free of charge or exchanged for another date..
Tickets for the EuroCity, Eurocity Direct and for our regional trains to, from or via Roosendaal or Maastricht can be refunded free of charge, or can be used on another train from Tuesday 8 September to Thursday 10 September. This means you can anticipate or postpone your journey by one day without changing your ticket. Please note, however: EuroCity tickets can only be used on another EuroCity train, whilst tickets for the Eurocity Direct can only be used on another Eurocity Direct train.
