Reserving a seat is compulsory for journeys operated by long distance buses. Children under 4 years old travel for free and don't need a ticket if they don't require a reserved seat.

These discount cards can be used our website, depending on your route and train type (other discount cards to be used through our Contact Centre). Please note: you must show your card or proof of entitlement on-board.

Train+ (SNCB)

With Train+ you enjoy discounts during off-peak times, weekends and public holidays and capped fares on the Belgian part of cross-border journeys with conventional trains (not on high speed trains).

Preferential Reimbursement (SNCB)

If you're a beneficiary of Preferential Reimbursement, you get 40% discount on the Belgian part of cross-border journeys with conventional trains.

100% discount Belgium (SNCB)

Holders of a valid travel pass, Unlimited Season Ticket or token for free transport on the Belgian rail network (visual impaired travellers, parliament members, police in uniform etc.) do not pay for the Belgian part of international journeys with conventional trains.

40% discount Netherlands (NS)

Depending on the conditions of their season ticket (route, time of travel etc.), holders of some types of NS season tickets 40% discount on the Dutch part of an international journey with conventional trains.

100% discount Netherlands (NS)

Depending on the conditions of their season ticket (route, time of travel etc.), some types of NS season tickets cover the Dutch part of an international journey with conventional trains. Holders of a pass valid on the Dutch network also travel for free in the Netherlands (except on Eurostar).

100% discount Luxembourg (CFL)

Holders of a valid travel pass, Network Railcard or token for free transport in 1st class on the Luxembourg rail network do not have to pay for the Luxembourg part of an international journey with conventional trains (in 2nd class, free travel in Luxembourg applies to everyone).

Frequent Pass (Eurostar)

Holders of a Eurostar Frequent Pass enjoy reduced fares and even more flexible travel conditions on the chosen Eurostar route.

Premium Pass (Eurostar)

Holders of a Eurostar Premium Pass enjoy reduced fares and even more flexible travel conditions in Premium between Brussels and Paris.

Bahncard 25 1st class (DB)

25% discount in Germany in 1st class when travelling with ICE or conventional trains (not valid on Eurostar).

Bahncard 25 2nd class (DB)

25% discount in Germany in 2nd class when travelling with ICE or conventional trains (not valid on Eurostar).

Bahncard 50 1st class (DB)

50% discount in Germany in 1st class when travelling with ICE or conventional trains (not valid on Eurostar).

Bahncard 50 2nd class (DB)

Carte Avantage Jeune (SNCF)

For travellers aged 12 to 27. Offers 30% discount on all journeys with TGV INOUI (in France and Europe) and Intercités (in France).

Carte Avantage Senior (SNCF)

For travellers aged 60 or more. Offers 30% discount on all journeys with TGV INOUI (in France and Europe) and Intercités (in France).

Carte Liberté (SNCF)

Offers 45% discount in 1st class and 60% discount in 2nd class on all journeys with TGV INOUI (in France and Europe) and Intercités (in France).

Carte Avantage - child companion (SNCF)

Discount children aged 4 to 11 years old who travel together with the holder of a valid Carte Avantage or Carte Liberté (max. accompanying children per card holder).

Half-Fare Travelcard (SBB)

The Swiss Half Fare travelcard (SBB-CFF-FFS) offers 50% discount in Switzerland (not valid on TGV Lyria)

ICE ticket fares

In contrast to other railway companies, there are no specific fares for youths or seniors available for ICE services. Instead, you can choose between three fare categories: 'Supersparpreis', 'Sparpreis' and 'Flexpreis'. These are available in 1st and 2nd class. There are also fares for children (under 15 years old) and passengers with reduced mobility.

Tip: when booking online, just indicate the number of passengers per age group and our booking system automatically gives you all the corresponding fares.

ICE ticket and promotional fares

FLEXPREIS: for flexibel travel

Presented as High Flex. For journeys between Germany and its neighbouring countries (including Belgium), Flexpreis is called Flexpreis Europa.
No train binding: ticket valid on any ICE, IC or regional train (without compulsory reservation) on your route and on the stated travel date.
Exchange or refund free of charge before the ticket's first validity date. From the first day of validity, exchange or refund allowed with a €19 fee per ticket.
City Pass included (for journeys of min. 100 km): in 126 German cities, your Flexpreis ticket is also valid on the urban transport network around your departure and/or arrival station.

Presented as Mid Flex. For journeys between Germany and its neighbouring countries (including Belgium), Sparpreis is called Sparpreis Europa.
Available in limited numbers and offered at different price levels (depending on the occupancy of your train).
Ticket with train binding: only valid on the ICE or IC train selected at the time of purchase (train number mentioned on the ticket). Also valid on any regional train on your route and on the stated travel date.
Exchange or refund allowed before the travel date with a €19 fee per ticket. No exchange or refund allowed from the first ticket validity date.
City Pass included (for journeys of min. 100 km): in 126 German cities, your Sparpreis ticket is also valid on the urban transport network around your departure and/or arrival station.

Optional seat reservation

Seat reservation on ICE trains is optional, for a supplement of €6* per journey in addition to your ticket at the Supersparpreis or Sparpreis fare. If you have a Flexpreis ticket, however, seat reservation is free and automatically included when buying your ticket.

Fares for specific passenger groups

Children under 15 travel with you for freeAccompanying children (-15)

Children younger than 15 years old travel free of charge if they are accompanied by an adult with either a Sparpreis or a Flexpreis ticket.

Children aged 6-14 travelling with an adult, must be included on the accompanying adult's ticket
Children under 6 can travel without a ticket (and need not be included on an accompanying adult's ticket)

Children travelling alone:

receive a 50% discount on the full train fare
must have their own ticket

Mobility impaired passengers (and their companion)Mobility impaired passengers

Passengers with reduced mobility pay full fare and their companions travel with a free campanion ticket. Belgian wheelchair users must have a national 'free companion' card issued by SNCB or a EU Disability Card with letter “A”.

Travel class: Available in 2nd class only. Seats 66 and 68 in carriages 25 and 35 are available for wheelchair users.

Ticket flexibility (companion's ticket): No exchange or reimbursement possible

Blind or visually-impaired passengers and their companion (or blind dog)Blind or visually-impaired passengers

Blind or visually-impaired passengers pay full fare and their companions or guide dogs travel with a free companion ticket. Belgian blind or visually-impaired passengers must have a national 'free companion' card issued by SNCB or a EU Disability Card with letter “A”.

Travel class: Available in 1st and 2nd classes

Ticket flexibility (companion's ticket): No exchange or reimbursement possible
