Travel to Milan by train

If you want to travel to Milan by train from Belgium, you have several options:

  • via Paris: in Paris Gare de Lyon, you can board either a TGV France-Italy (3 trains a day to Milano Porta Garibaldi) or the Frecciarossa train operated by Trenitalia (2 trains a day to Milano Centrale). Tip: if you want to avoid changing trains in Paris, you can also board the Frecciarossa in Lyon Part-Dieu.
  • via Cologne and Basel by ICE train. From Basel, several EuroCity trains a day take you to Milano Centrale.
  • from 18 June 2026, the European Sleeper night train will take you directly from Brussels to Milan 3 times a week.

Whichever train you choose, you can easily book your tickets from SNCB-NMBS International and start dreaming of having a cappuccino opposite the Duomo, strolling through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, taking a trip along the Navigli canals or visiting the legendary San Siro stadium.
