From one bustling capital to another, from one city centre to the next: get from Paris to Berlin by train.
This journey, on board Eurostar, TGV® and ICE trains, requires one change, which depending on your chosen route will take place in Cologne or further south (in Mannheim, Frankfurt or Karlsruhe).
Your journey starts at Paris Nord train station, where you’ll need to board the high-speed Thalys trains. 3 hours 14 minutes later – after having crossed Belgium – you’ll arrive at the central station of Cologne (Köln Hbf).
Here, you’ll be able to change onto a high-speed ICE train, which will take you to the heart of Berlin in less than 4 hours 30 minutes.
Your arrival station, Berlin Hbf, is ideally located in the city centre. You can use the public transport lines on offer (metro, tram, bus and train) to start your visit of the city – or to continue your journey in Germany.
If you prefer to travel from Paris Est train station, first board a TGV®/ICE France-Germany train connecting both countries. These high-speed trains will get you to the central stations of Frankfurt, Mannheim or Cologne within a few hours.
At these stations, you’ll be able to change onto a high-speed ICE train, which will take you to the heart of Berlin.

Due to an incident on the German rail network on 22 November, the rail traffic between Aachen and Cologne will be disrupted until Monday 23 December.
Until 23 December, most ICE trains on the Brussels-Cologne-Frankfurt connection will only operate between Brussels-Midi and Aachen Hbf. Between Aachen and Cologne, passengers can use Deutsche Bahn's regional RE1 and RE9 services, resulting in longer journey times.
Only the last two ICE trains of the day will operate all the way between Brussels and Frankfurt (ICE 317 and 19 from Brussels to Frankfurt and ICE 12 and 10 from Frankfurt to Brussels). However, they are being diverted via Rheydt, taking 90 to 100 minutes of extra journey time.
