InterCity Brussels - Amsterdam disappears

From 15 December 2024, the InterCity Brussels - Amsterdam will cease to run. Eurocity Direct and EuroCity will from then on operate the service between Belgium and the Netherlands.

23 November (from 10 pm) to 26 November: strike in Belgium

Update 21/11, 10:30am

Due to a national strike, the rail service on the Belgian rail network will be limited from Sunday 23 November (10 pm - CET) to Wednesday 26 November 2025 included.

An alternative train service will be drawn up based on available train staff. All details on this alternative train service will be available 24h in advance on www.belgiantrain.be.

Please take this alternative train service into account if you need to take a domestic connection in Belgium before or after an international train journey, or if you need to take our regional trains just across the border (Roosendaal, Maastricht, Aachen, Luxembourg, Lille or Maubeuge). 

Concerning international trains we can provide the following informaton so far:

EuroCity (Brussels-Rotterdam) and Eurocity Direct (Brussels-Amsterdam):

  • During the period of the strike, the validity of Saver tickets is not restricted to the train and time mentioned on the ticket. 
  • Your ticket is valid from 1 day before up to 1 day after their validity date, allowing you to anticipate or postpone your journey if necessary.
  • Tickets for the EuroCity and Eurocity Direct are exceptionally valid on local trains via Roosendaal. 
  • If you prefer not to travel, your ticket is fully refundable.

TGV INOUI

Alle TGV INOUI trains from and to Brussels will operate normally except:

Saturday 22/11

  • 9870 (Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid 07:17 - Strasbourg 11:05) departs from Lille Europe
  • 9894/5 (Strasbourg 17:01 - Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid 21:01) terminates at Lille Europe

Sunday 23/11

  • 9870 (Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid 07:17 - Strasbourg 11:05) departs from Lille Europe
  • 9864/5 (Montpellier 14:51 - Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid 20:43) terminates at Lille Europe, but is twinned to TGV 9868 that originates from Marseille and continues to Brussels. From Lille to Brussels, passengers can use TGV 9868 (other train part on same track).
  • 9894/5 (Strasbourg 17:01 - Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid 21:01) terminates at Lille Europe

Monday 24/11

  • 9884 (Rennes 6:25 - Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid 11:01) terminates at Lille Europe, but is twinned to TGV 9886 that originates from Nantes and continues to Brussels. From Lille to Brussels, passengers can use TGV 9886 (other train part on same track)
  • 9832 (Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid 15:03 - Nantes 19:50) is cancelled

Tuesday 25/11 and Wednesday 26/11

  • 9886/7 (Nantes 5:59 - Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid 11:01) is cancelled 
  • 9832 (Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid 15:03 - Nantes 19:50) is cancelled

Thursday 27/11

  • 9886/7 (Nantes 5:59 - Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid 11:01) is cancelled
