Strike in France: travel perspectives for the oncoming days.

Rail traffic on the French railway network has been disrupted since 5/12/19 due to a national strike in France.

Thalys is still operating a reduced transport plan. Passengers with a Thalys ticket for travelling to or from the Paris region between 5/12/19 and 26/01/20 included can change their ticket for another travel date. Passengers whose Thalys train was cancelled can get a full refund of their ticket through their original point of sales. Exchanges or refunds related to the strike are possible until 15/02/2020 included.

TGV® Brussels-France is operating according to a reduced transport until Monday 20 January:

Passengers with a TGV® Brussels-France ticket for travelling from 5/12/19 to 19/01/20 can have a free exchange for another travel date or have a full refund through their original point of sales until 21/01/20.

For domestic TGV® and Intercités trains in France, the adapted schedules will be released at 17h on the day before each travel date through SNCF Infolignes.

It is very likely that the traffic will be severely disturbed, and SNCF advises their customers to postpone their trip. Meanwhile, SNCF has suspended all exchange and reimbursement costs for TGV® and Intercités journeys during the concerned period. Several trains (whether they will be running or not) have been preventively closed for reservation.

IC 9262 and 9697 not serving The Hague on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 January.IC 9692 and 9697 not serving The Hague on 18/01 and 19/01.

Due to planned engineering works near The Hague, InterCity train n° 9692 to Brussels (departing from Amsterdam Central at 5h55) and the InterCity train n° 9697 to Amsterdam (departing from Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid at 18h45) will not be serving The Hague on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 January 2020.

Besides, all trains from Amsterdam to Brussels will depart 1 minute earlier from Amsterdam Central and Schiphol Airport.

25 and 26 January 2020: InterCity Netherlands not serving Brussels-Midi; Brussels-Central and Mechelen.

Due to planned engineering works on the Belgian railway network on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January 2020, InterCity services connecting Brussels with Amsterdam will exceptionally depart and terminate at Bruxelles-Nord/Brussel-Noord station and will not be serving Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid and Bruxelles-Central/Brussel-Centraal station

These trains will not be calling at Mechelen either.

Engineering works in Germany on 1 and 2 February 2020: adapted journey times for ICE Brussels-Cologne-Frankfurt.1 and 2 February: adapted journey times for ICE Brussels-Cologne-Frankfurt.

Due to planned engineering works on the German rail network on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February 2020, the journey duration between Aachen and Cologne will be about 1 hour longer than usual.

ICE trains to Brussels will depart about 1 hour earlier from Frankfurt and Cologne, while ICE trains to Frankfurt will arrive about 1 hour later in Cologne and Frankfurt.

1 and 2 February 2020: InterCity Netherlands not serving Brussels-Midi, Brussels-Central and Mechelen.

Due to planned engineering works on the Belgian railway network on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February 2020, InterCity services connecting Brussels with Amsterdam will exceptionally depart and terminate at Bruxelles-Nord/Brussel-Noord station and will not be serving Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid and Bruxelles-Central/Brussel-Centraal station

These trains will not be calling at Mechelen either.

14 and 15 March 2020: InterCity Netherlands terminating at Rotterdam.

Due to planned engineering works on the Dutch railway network on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 March 2020, InterCity services connecting Brussels with Amsterdam will terminate at Rotterdam Central

Passengers to The Hague, Schiphol-Airport and Amsterdam can change trains in Breda or Rotterdam and make use of other NS (Dutch railway) operated trains. This applies in the opposite direction as well, for travelling from the Netherlands to Belgium.

Sunday 22 March: earliest two InterCity Netherlands trains departing/terminating at Breda.22/03: earliest two InterCity Netherlands trains to depart/terminate in Breda.

Due to planned engineering on the Dutch rail network on Sunday 22 March 2020, the earliest two InterCity trains from Belgium to the Netherlands (IC 9211 and 9691) will exceptionally terminate at Breda. In the other direction, the earliest two Intercity trains from the Netherlands to Belgium (IC 9692 and 9216) will depart from Breda

Passengers to Rotterdam, The Hague, Schiphol-Airport and Amsterdam can change trains in Breda and make use of other NS (Dutch railway) operated trains from Breda. This applies in the opposite direction as well, for travelling from the Netherlands to Belgium.

28 and 29 March: InterCity Netherlands terminating at Breda.

Due to planned engineering works near Rotterdam on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March 2020, InterCity services connecting Brussels with Amsterdam will terminate at Breda

Passengers to Rotterdam, The Hague, Schiphol-Airport and Amsterdam can change trains in Breda and make use of other NS (Dutch railway) operated trains from Breda. This applies in the opposite direction as well, for travelling from the Netherlands to Belgium.

Intercity Namur-Maubeuge-Paris: engineering works between Charleroi and Maubeuge on 4 and 5 April 2020.

Due to planned engineering works on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 April, rail traffic will be interrupted between Charleroi and Maubeuge starting from 16h30 on Saturday (with consequences for the Intercity Namur-Maubeuge-Paris). Trains will be replaced by substitution buses between Charleroi and Maubeuge.

Mögliche Sicherheitskontrollen in Brüssel-Midi, Antwerpen-Centraal und Liège-Guillemins.

Seit Juli 2017 können Fahrgäste, die mit den Hochgeschwindigkeitszügen Thalys TGV® oder ICE verreisen, in den Bahnhöfen Brüssel-Midi, Antwerpen-Centraal und Liège-Guillemins Sicherheitskontrollen unterliegen..

Diese Kontrollen sind Teil einer Reihe von den Behörden genommener Maßnahmen und werden durch bevollmächtigtes Personal auf nicht systematische und nicht dauerhafte Weise ausgeführt.

Wir bitten deshalb Thalys, TGV® und ICE Reisende die Möglichkeit einer solchen Kontrolle zu berücksichtigen und genügend lange im Voraus vor Zugabfahrt am Bahnsteig einzutreffen.

Wir bitten außerdem alle Fahrgäste ohne Gegenstände zu reisen, die für andere Reisende eine Gefahr darstellen könnten.
