It’s an easy journey by train from Cologne to Brussels. With 2 high-speed trains – Eurostar and ICE - competing on this route, you’ll get to the Belgian capital in no time at all.
Set off in Köln Hbf, Cologne’s main train station, situated next to the famous cathedral. After a comfortable journey with a travel time of less than 2 hours, you’ll arrive at Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid, one of Brussels’ principal stations.
Upon your arrival, you’ll find a wide range of public transport lines (tram, metro, bus or even train) on offer, so you can start your visit to Brussels with ease. If you’re up for it, you can even rent a bicycle and head to Grand Place, Manneken Pis and the city’s many other tourist attractions!
Due to a strike in Belgium, the rail service on the Belgian rail network will be limited from Monday 28 April (10 pm) to Tuesday 29 April 2025 included.
An alternative train service will be drawn up based on available train staff. Take this alternative train service into account if you need to take a domestic connection in Belgium before or after your international train journey, or if you need to take our regional trains shortly across the border (Roosendaal, Maastricht, Aachen, Luxembourg, Lille or Maubeuge). More details on this alternative train service will be available 24h in advance on www.belgiantrain.be.
For the time being, we still don't know the possible impact of this strike on international trains (EuroCity, Eurocity Direct, TGV INOUI, Eurostar, OUIGO, ICE etc.). We advise to check this page regularly for further updates.
