Motorail: travel with your car by train!
Motorail services mean you can say goodbye to stress and traffic jams: your holidays begin on the station platform and your car comes with you. And if you prefer to explore on two wheels when you head south, motorail services can also accommodate your motorbike.
There are no longer any motorail trains departing from Belgium itself, but services are available just beyond our borders. So you can begin your journey at
Paris (Bercy) or
Düsseldorf. The next day, you will arrive at your destination refreshed after a restful train journey. Why not go over your itinerary on the journey and perhaps even add a few detours? There are so many fascinating places to see in the south of France.
Der Auto-Train der SNCF
The SNCF Auto Train motorail service runs all year from Paris (Bercy), taking you - and your car – to Avignon, Biarritz, Bordeaux, Narbonne, Nice and Saint-Raphaël.
You can choose between seats, sleeping accommodation or complete couchette compartments. The bar offers snacks and more substantial fare, whilst a tasty breakfast before arrival is included in the price of your ticket.

AutoZug, the DB motorail service
The DB motorail sleeper service departs from Düsseldorf and will take you and your car to Narbonne in the south of France.
The train offers various types of sleeping compartments with comfortable berths. A bistro car offers snacks and drinks and you will be able to enjoy a good breakfast when you wake up.
