A large, waterside metropolis against the backdrop of the snowy Alps, Zurich is a unique mix with its more than 50 museums, haven of shops, thriving nightlife and river at the heart of the city.

Bahnhofstrasse is without a doubt the place to start in this city! The main shopping street, it was built on the former ditches of Zurich and now has enough brand names to satisfy even the most dedicated shopaholics! A stroll through the old town is a must, where art galleries, book shops, terraces and restaurants make for a very lively area.

Zurich is also a dynamic city, with the country’s biggest concentration of clubs! The nightlife here continues into the early hours and people know how to enjoy it, dancing the night away then spending the day swimming in the Limmat river.

Fans of culture and heritage are also spoilt for choice. Zurich is overflowing with wonders, not least the symbols of the city: the Grossmünster church with its Charlemagne tower, and the Fraumünster church with its stained glass windows by Marc Chagall. In addition, the city is home to more than 50 museums including the Kunsthaus, the Rietberg museum and the Swiss National Museum.
