Bar-buffet

The BordBistro is available to all passengers and offers a selection of small meals, sandwiches, salads, hot snacks and beverages.

Panorama Lounge

The ICE 3 carriages (servicing the high-speed line between Cologne and Frankfurt) offer a Panorama Lounge where a glass wall allows you to watch the train driver at work! Panorama Lounges are available in 1st and 2nd class.

DB Lounges

In Cologne, Frankfurt Airport and Frankfurt, 1st class passengers have access to the DB Lounge where they can get free coffee, tea or (non-alcoholic) beverages. Passengers can watch television on the large screens or they can peruse one of the many magazines and newspapers on hand. Dedicated work areas with Internet connection are available as well.

Fares to suit your requirements

ICE offers a range of fares depending on whether you would like a flexible journey or cheaper travel (all fares are subject to availability):

• Standard Fare: available up until the last minute; tickets can be refunded or exchanged. For passengers whose most important requirement is flexibility.
• Sparpreis and Supersparpreis: the cheaper way to travel! Tickets must be booked at least three days in advance. Non-refundable.

your ICE ticket and seat reservation

ICE makes a distinction between the ticket for your journey and your seat reservation, which states the date of your journey, time of departure, time of arrival and your carriage and seat numbers.

• If you are travelling at the standard fare, reservation is not compulsory, as you are free to move your departure earlier or later.
  However, if you would still like to reserve a seat (which is strongly recommended), the reservation would usually cost you €4 per journey, unless you buy your ticket online*.
• As the number of seats available at the saver Sparpreis fares is limited, seat reservation is compulsory (but free of charge) for passengers holding Sparpreis tickets.
