Welcome in Frankfurt!
If you’re negotiating a contract or doing business in Frankfurt, then make the most of your free time to explore the city! For, while this city is one of the world’s most prosperous, and one of Europe’s biggest business centres, it also has many attractions.
Wander through its historic centre and admire the church of St. Paul, the Place Römeberg and the Rathaus (town Hall), as well as the neighbouring streets that have retained their traditional architecture. Enjoy a walk along the “Museumsufer” museums quay and visit the museum of modern art or the Städel museum. In the latter you can see a remarkable collection of paintings. These works cover the period from the Renaissance to the 20th century. And, last but not least, you can’t leave Frankfurt without visiting the birthplace of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe! You can find out all about this poet, novelist, playwright, art theorist, and man of politics.
A breath of fresh air between two meetings? Relax on the banks of the Main, in the Nice gardens, the palm garden, one of the many city parks, or the zoo. On your way back, look up and admire the “Skyline”, a geometrical horizon of towers that has earned the city the nickname of “Mainhatten” or “Bankfurt” - a nickname referring to the European Central Bank.
After all this exploration, take time out and enjoy an Apfelwein (a kind of cider) while you stop off in the Alt-Sachsenhausen quarter. Cheers!
