Get to Koelnmesse with Thalys or ICE

Every day there are 5 Thalys and 4 ICE trains to take you directly from Belgium to Köln Hauptbahnhof railway station, right outside the cathedral and on the west bank of the Rhine. The Koelnmesse exhibition centre (the 4th largest in the world) is just opposite, on the east bank.

2 possibilities for crossing the Rhine to Koelnmesse:

  • By boat
  • By regional train via the bridge.

On the other side of the Rhine, Köln Deutz station is the stop-off point for the Koelnmesse exhibition centre. Whether you are travelling to Cologne by Thalys or by ICE, your ticket is valid for the whole of Cologne and its suburbs*, so can also be used for the crossing to Köln Deutz.
