Recover the VAT on your train travel costs
SNCB Europe thinks about your accountant too. When purchasing international train tickets, you can obtain a receipt that will enable you to recover the VAT paid for the Belgian portion of your international train journey*. Much easier! This is an exclusive benefit of booking through SNCB Europe.
How do you obtain your VAT receipt?
1. Book your international train journey online on www.sncb-europe.biz (SNCB Europe’s business travel section).
2. Mark the appropriate checkbox at Step 3 of the booking process and enter the company details (name, address and company registration number) that will appear on your VAT receipt.
3. Pay for your tickets online (VAT inclusive amount) by credit card or home banking
4. Immediately after payment, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with the details of your journey and of the amount paid (VAT inclusive, VAT exclusive and amount of the VAT for the Belgian part of your journey).
5. Attach this confirmation e-mail to your VAT declaration document.
